AFRICA 2000

Without a harsh word spoken , and friendship unbroken
We head our separate way
We saw all that we could , drank more than we should
This was our wandering way
Did eight countries right , loved both day and night
Ending off with a smile each day
Met so many friends , from all of earth's ends
Memories that wont go away
Playing on oceans and playing on lakes
Getting things right and making mistakes
Learning new things everyday
To see the big six , we learned some new tricks
Like sinking poor Trol in the clay
Eating the fruits of the season , and smiling for no reason
The way we felt life should stay
Finding feathers and unearthing new treasures
Things we can never repay
We leapt and we hopped, the fun never stopped
We thought our spinning rope would fray
We bounced and we cared, and we cooked with a flare
Something different every day
Sitting in streams , talking of dreams
And the feelings we like to display
Changes in weather , couldn't dampen our pleasure
Always more silver than grey
We searched for the apes, and we drank of the grapes
Feasting on seafood for pennies a day
With a wee bit of poking , Col almost quit smoking
Well worth the roll in the hay
Jingling chimes and writing new rhymes
The sun rising across the bay
Thanking the source for being free
Taking life as it comes and pleased just to be
Concerned with only today
Dancing always at the end of the rainbow
Different visions but seeing the same show
This is life served up on a tray
So much experienced together , thoughts that will stay forever
One Big Long Holiday
If I had it all to do over again
I'd phone you Col and tell you when
A different direction .
But the exact same way!

(Thanks Colly, it was great)
